POWERING U was founded in 2015 to inspire and to enlighten people who are on a personal journey. With that in mind, we decided to create a platform to share the stories of great athletes and the things that motivate them.

When it comes to MOTIVATION, athletes have been trained to push themselves to another level; leaders are trained to find what motivates a team, and personal motivators drive individuals. But HOW did they get there? POWERING U is a PLATFORM for those stories to be told and shared.

OUR WHY

Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, POWERING U founder Darrell Devaul was born with a passion for athletics. He started his education at Jackson State University, but life’s twists and turns brought him to Dallas, Texas where he received his degree in Sociology and Marketing from the University of North Texas. He then received his MBA with a concentration in Sports Marketing.

Throughout his career Darrell has used his extensive sales and business development experience to engage small business owners and C- Suite executives. His unrelenting drive for success and his passion for sports is has led to him to jobs with Rival and Fox Sports Southwest as a field reporter. He has covered events such as the Nike Combine, South by Southwest (SXSW), AdobeMax Conference and Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
